Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly

The Vanadzor office of the Helsinki Citizens' Assembly is a human rights NGO that unites individuals who value the principles of democracy, tolerance, pluralism and the rule of law.

The organization was founded in 1998. as a branch of the HCA Armenia Committee, and since 2001 has been operating as a separate organization. The head office of the organization is located in Vanadzor, it has a representative office in Yerevan.

HCA Vanadzor provides free legal assistance to about 1000 citizens annually in the whole territory of the Republic of Armenia , conducts strategic trials, monitors closed and semi-closed institutions, state structures, local self-governments, electoral processes. Makes regulations analysis and presents legislative proposals , implementing peacebuilding projects , information provided by international organizations on Armenia's fulfillment of its international obligations.

One of the directions of the organization is capacity building and awareness , within the framework of which trainings and discussions are carried out by representatives of the target areas (Soldiers, conscripts - their families, prisoners of war, missing persons, conflict victims - their families, people with mental disabilities - their families).
