Impresit Bakolori Plc came into Nigeria in the 1960's under the name Impregilo, to construct the Kainji Hydro-electric Plant on the Niger River, the longest river in West Africa. In 1975, Impresit Bakolori Plc was incorporated in Nigeria as a joint venture between the Federal Government, acting through Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI) and Impregilo S.p.A of Italy to construct the Bakolori Dam and Irrigation. Hence the company to it's name Bakolori, after the village then in Sokoto State (Present Day Zamfara State).

It is now on record that all major dams in Nigeria were designed and constructed by Impresit Bakolori Plc. Apart from the construction of dams, irrigation projects and water supply, the company has excelled in the construction of buildings, roads and bridges, infrastructure and urban development. Therefore our market leadership in these areas has never been in doubt.

Our company's experience and that of our Technical Partner, in motor ways, railways and subways, ports and mine works, hydraulic structures and dams, water supply, irrigation projects, airports, underground works, civil engineering works for thermal and nuclear power stations, residential, management, sports and industrial buildings, hospitals and works for protection of the environment and restoration of historic buildings is not contestable.

We have also acquired considerable experience in soil consolidation and drainage having constructed kilometers of road embarkments in marshy soil.
