The Gaza Governorate Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established in 1954 under the Chamber of Commerce Law during the period of the Egyptian administration of the Gaza Strip. The Chamber of Commerce members' council consists of 13 members representing the Palestinian private sector in the main economic fields: trade, industry, services and agriculture. The Gaza Governorate Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a prominent founding member of the Federation of Palestinian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, where the Federation forms the main umbrella for the Palestinian Chambers.
