TCS Uruguay Global Delivery Center (UGDC) started its operations in 2002 as the first center of the company in Latin America.

TCS Uruguay is an essential part of TCS Latin America and acts as a business arm of Tata Consultancy Services, which operates with Global Delivery Centers in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Uruguay. These centers are CMMi level 5 certified, the highest quality standard of the industry.

Several factors played a part when choosing this country as the starting point of TCS\' expansion strategy in the region: the possibility of being in a first class technology park in a free trade zone at affordable operating costs with excellent government support to the IT industry, political and economic stability, and the high academic level of graduate professionals.
