The fact that the Dubrovnik School of Tourism and Hospitality has existed for more than half a century should not surprise anyone - in this area of ours, the tourist economy is the center of overall economic development. Dubrovnik and the people of Dubrovnik, who have accepted tourism as a philosophy of living, have always known that quality education in this branch of the economy is a prerequisite for work and tourism development. Immediately after the Second World War, in 1947, the Lower Catering School was opened in Dubrovnik, which, apart from the one in Opatija, was the only one of its kind in Croatia.
