About

The Swiss company Société pour l'Exportation des Produits Nestlé opened its representative offices in Serbia and Croatia in 1996, and a year later opened representative offices in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia. At that time, there were only a dozen employees in the representations in the entire region.
Nestlé Adriatic was founded in 2003 and includes the markets of Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro and Kosovo, based in Zagreb. In the regional market, it offers world-famous brands: NESCAFÉ, THOMY, MAGGI, NESQUIK, KITKAT, SMARTIES, LION, AFTER EIGHT, PURINA and NESTLÉ cereals.

Nestlé has been present in our region for many years. The first data date from the time when Serbia was part of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. The main imported products were baby flour, better known today as infant formula, and chocolate. Although the company Nestlé Adriatic doo in Belgrade was founded only at the beginning of 2005, Nestlé has been present in Serbia for much longer through its brands. MAGGI and THOMY products have been known to consumers since the time when, according to Nestlé's recipe, they were produced in the regional factories of Podravka and Kolinska.
The distribution of Nestlé products in Serbia was not interrupted even during the sanctions imposed in the then FRY. The representative office for Serbia was located in Belgrade, and consumers had access to products from the range of brands NESCAFÉ, NESQUIK, MAGGI, THOMY, baby food and chocolates, which were imported from Switzerland.

At the beginning of 2011, Slovenia became part of Nestlé Adriatic.
Today, a much wider range of Nestlé products can be found on the Serbian market, which fully satisfy the tastes and wishes of all consumers. Although all Nestlé products are well known to consumers, Nestlé in the Serbian market means a richer offer of food products and provides added value to the consumer goods market.
Regardless of the company's growth through numerous acquisitions, research and development of food products are still one of the core activities within the company. Nestlé’s research focuses on a diet that will reduce the risk of today’s diseases, such as obesity, diabetes and blood vessel disease.

The Nestlé Group also includes 40 research centers, so that Nestlé spends more than 1.6 billion Swiss francs a year on research.
