Action for Community Development (ACODEV) Uganda

Action for Community Development started in Kasese as a Community Based Organization in response to contributing to the alleviation of challenges created by HIV/AIDS scourge and mitigating the adverse effects of war both perpetrated in Uganda and the spillovers from across the border in Eastern Congo in 2003. The strategies we employed at the time to address these challenges recognized the need for communities to rebuild, re-inspire and re-empower these broken communities. The challenges of yesterday may not be the challenges of today. We are proud of a National footprint; having grown from one District to the whole country Uganda and currently spreading our wings of different innovative programs to countries such as Malawi, Rwanda, Democratic republic of Congo and South Sudan that continues to give us the opportunities to serve Millions of people through her well tested programs and strategic approaches.

Mission: To serve and empower communities in the East and Southern Africa region through promotion of innovative solutions in the areas of Human Rights promotion, Health Promotion and Institutional Capacity Strengthening.
