SEDAŞ is an organization that provides energy distribution services to 1.9 million consumers and 3.7 million population, 24 hours a day, in 4 provinces, 45 districts, 50 municipalities, 765 villages and 1365 neighborhoods, on a total area of 19,320 square kilometers covering the provinces of Sakarya, Kocaeli, Bolu and Düzce.

Since 2013, SEDAŞ has been carrying out only electricity distribution activities due to the unbundling of activities, and the activities related to electricity sales and consumption bill and payment points are within the scope of the duties and responsibilities of the assigned supply company and retail electricity sales companies. SEDAŞ has no electricity sales activities.

The field of activity of SEDAŞ, within the scope of the investment program for electricity distribution services, is to construct new distribution facilities and increase capacity, to construct additional facilities in the existing network, to carry out operation, maintenance and repair works, to evaluate connection applications, to provide services by making connection agreements with electricity consumers, from consumption meters. to read indexes, to continue lighting works, to perform meter replacement and calibration processes in electricity distribution, to combat technical and non-technical losses, to reduce the number and duration of electricity failures, and to ensure the continuity of electricity supply.
