Agricultural Institute of Slovenia / Kmetijski Institut Slovenije

Agricultural Institute of Slovenia is a public research institution founded in 1898. The number of persons employed at the Institute is 175, of whom 84 are researchers.

Institute is organised in the following departments: 

• Crop Science Department 
• Infrastructure Centre Jablje
• Plant Protection Department
• Department of Fruit Growing, Viticulture and Oenology
• Agricultural Economics Department
• Animal Production Department (Cattle breeding, Pig breeding, Beekeeping & bee research)
• Department of Agricultural Engineering and Energetics
• Department of Agroecology and Natural Resources  
• Central Laboratories (Agrochemical and Oenological Laboratory)

A separate Service for Official Certification of Seed and Plant Propagation Material is also organized. The Institute has a special library with more than 32.000 units which is linked with other libraries at home and abroad.
