One of the priorities of Mariupol State University is international cooperation that is constantly developing. On developing the existing contacts with foreign partners and on establishing the new ones, MSU solves a number of educational and scientific assignments, which strengthen the potential of the teaching staff and promotes development of the University’s academic and research-aimed facilities. The implementation of the aforementioned priorities advertises the University’s activities and disseminates the advantages of the national system of higher education, which, in its turn, promotes improvement of Ukraine’s image and boosts the quality of professional training and the quality of instruction.

For the years of its development, Mariupol State University has developed and has been successfully implementing its own pattern of international cooperation that provides for comprehensive cooperation with the ministries of education, ministries of foreign affairs, diplomatic representations, regional administrations, mayors’ offices, leading universities, foundations, government agencies and NGOs.

Mariupol State University is a classical higher educational institution with a wide network of international contacts and long-standing reputation in the Ukrainian and foreign educational and pedagogical communities, a leading center of revival and development of Hellenism in Ukraine and a center of training of highly qualified specialists: economists, lawyers, historians, teachers, psychologists, diplomats, interpreters, journalists who constitute the brainpower of the society.

Our university started its path of impetuous development from being Mariupol College of Humanities of Donetsk State University. It rapidly gained attention of the public in Ukraine and abroad. This happened due to the multi-level and multi-vector international cooperation which set grounds for establishing friendly relations and partnership with many foreign countries. We are proud to acknowledge that MSU is one of the few Ukrainian universities which have been visited by three presidents of foreign countries. MSU has signed more than 100 agreements on international cooperation, which is one of the highest achievements in this field in Ukraine. As a result, annually more than 300 teachers, postgraduates and students participate in foreign internships in Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Greece, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Poland, Cyprus and other countries. More than 700 alumni proceed with their studies or work abroad.

Inviting authoritative Ukrainian and foreign scholars and experts to work with our students has become common for our university. Their lectures, trainings and workshops are the source of the unique knowledge that increases our alumni’s level of competitiveness on the national and international labor markets.

More than 4200 students are currently studying at MSU. They come from different regions of Ukraine as well as from various foreign countries including China, Turkey, Greece, Russia, Azerbaijan etc. I would like to underline that the University provides all the conditions necessary for successful and well-balanced process of education and leisure as well as for intellectual, physical and cultural development of youth. Modern classrooms, computer centers, libraries, equipped gyms, a sports complex and cozy dormitories are at full students’ disposal.

We appreciate everything we have. We appreciate our students with their originality, initiative and creativity; we appreciate our friendly relations with numerous partners as well as the opportunity to jointly implement promising research, educational, cultural and social projects; we appreciate the attention and the support of the state and local governing bodies that facilitate the efficient functioning of our University. And yet we are heading for new heights: we are creating a stable HR, research and methodological foundation for opening new majors; we are adopting and actively implementing the experience of the world’s leading universities; we are providing the appropriate conditions for high-quality training of our students and their further decent employment.

The time will pass and our daily life will turn into history. This is the reason why MSU staff makes everything possible, so that our students’ present becomes both a spotlight in their lives and a bright page in the chronicles of Mariupol State University.
