Renewable energies are developing a strong momentum because they protect our climate. Solar power in particular is increasingly establishing itself as the consumer-orientated domestic energy supply in sync with the times. New technical solutions, years of development work and consistent field research enabled the founding of autarq GmbH in 2012 and the subsequent market launch of the autarq solar roof tiles.

Important impetus was provided by the increased energy efficiency rates that have been achieved in the meantime and the more favourable prices for solar cells on the world market. Connection techniques, system components and peripheral devices were constantly improved, and production processes developed and optimised. The first roofs were installed by autarq GmbH itself so that this valuable experience could flow directly into the further development of the products. In 2017 and 2018, autarq built up sales, successfully tested products and customer requirements in the market, and concluded strategic partnerships with tile manufacturers in Europe.

autarq GmbH has its company headquarters in Prenzlau in Brandenburg, and has been part of the econnext Group since the end of 2017. The management holding company specialises in investments in sustainable companies that have a positive impact on the earth’s resources, the climate and society.
