The CiR Council is the main decision-making body for operational and financial supervision and the difinition of orientations within the framework of the general guidelines set by the CDCIR.

The CIR Council's missions are to :

• establish general guidelines relating to strategic, operational and financila issues concerning the CIR and monitor the effective implementation of the CIR in accordance with the requirements of the CDCIR
• supervise the overall management of the CIR process and the activities of the Executive Secretariat
• ensure the supervision of the management of the Trust Fund of the CIR

As a general rule,members if the CIR board are appointed for a period of at least 2 years which may be extended by decision of their respective constituents.
