Municipal Institution City Institute

City Institute is an analytical centre, which was established by Lviv City Council (LCC) on May 21, 2009. Institution has a non-profit status based on municipal property and is under control  of Lviv City Council executive committee. 

Mission

To consolidate the efforts of residents, city government and business to solve the  key issues of city strategic development. City Institute explores  and studies the  best international experience for its further implementation in Lviv city development, supports the process of involving citizens in issues of local importance.

The aim

• To strengthen the self-identity of Lviv residents
• To create the positive image of the city
• Combine expert’s mutual cooperation to resolve key issues
• Build and run a transparent mechanism for resolving problems of authorities

The key tasks of CI

• Implementation of democratic standards, a full cycle of analysis and consulting in municipal decision-making process
• To base into the administrative procedure the mandatory training and review
• To bring structure units of City Council to conformity with stated strategic priorities
• The implementation of transparent and clear procedures and standards for all structure units of City Council
• To concentrate the budget outcomes on achieving strategic priority points
• Create a unified system of informing and analysis of city authorities to guarantee making the most effective and well-informed decisions
• Implementation of European lobbying standards
