About

The AIMW vision is to promote and protect human rights (including labour rights) of migrant workers without any kind of distinction.

In order to achieve this vision, AIMW will undertake research and actions focused on the promotion and advocacy of migrant workers’ rights in the work place according to international human rights norms. To this end, its subsidiary objectives shall be:

  • To liaise with international organisations, governmental and inter-governmental bodies concerning service provision to and policy relevant to migrant workers;
  • To facilitate the integration of migrant workers into the South African society;
  • To influence and contribute to the formation and development of migrant workers related legislation and best practices;
  •  To monitor the treatment and conditions of migrant workers;
  • To strengthen migrant workers’ rights in South Africa and internationally.
