Created in 1963, the BEP Group is responsible for the economic, social and environmental development of the Province of Namur, in coordination with the Walloon authorities. The shareholders are the Province of Namur and the 38 municipalities that make it up. The BEP umbrella structure leads, manages and coordinates:

• BEP Environnement (mostly municipal) in charge of waste collection and treatment.
• BEP Crematorium (majority municipal) which coordinates the management of the Crematorium of the Heart of Wallonia, within the framework of a public-private partnership. Several Namur and Luxembourg municipalities and the two Provinces are its shareholders.
• BEP Economic expansion, (mostly municipal) active in the development and management of reception infrastructures for businesses (parks and incubators).
