Zweckverband Verkehrsverbund Mittelsachsen / Verkehrsverbund Mittelsachsen GmbH (VMS GmbH)

Zweckverband Verkehrsverbund Mittelsachsen (ZVMS) is a traffic group of public transport (PT) in the greater Chemnitz. The VMS extends over the city of Chemnitz as well as the districts of the Erzgebirgskreis , Zwickau and central Saxony. 

In addition to coordinating local rail transport, standardizing tariffs and managing local public transport, the sovereign task of transporting school children in the districts of Zwickau, Central Saxony and the Erzgebirge district, but not in the independent city of Chemnitz, has been transferred to the ZVMS since January 1, 2011. For this purpose, the school transport statute was passed on May 24, 2011 by the association assembly, which came into force on June 10, 2011.
