About

Solektra’ objective is straightforward: to ensure that Africans as a whole have access to quality energy and water – as a key pre-requisite for social and economic development. Since its foundation in 2014 and its first projects in West Africa, the company has managed to positively impact several million people across the continent – with clean and sustainable solutions. Indeed, the continent’s development is now possible by following new paths, different from those of developed countries – leveraging ‘carbonless’, environmentally friendly approaches, and taking advantage of Africa’s significant potential in terms of renewable energy and human capital.

Solektra Global Energy Solutions
Under this brand is the complete range of renewable energy solutions offered by Solektra – solar street lamps and maintenance kits for street lamps; solar micro power plants; solar home kits and community solar systems; solar torches; solar panels; solar lanterns, solar powered electric vehicles.

Solektra Water
The Solektra Water brands is an umbrella for our water access solutions. The first projects were focused on access to drinking water, with the marketing of fully biological water filters, respectful of health and the environment, in partnership with the company Vestergaard and village pump. To meet the specific needs of the target populations, many of whom live in the Sahel strip, Solektra then turned to supplying solar water pumps and solar water heaters – creating a synergy with its expertise in renewable energy.
Now we are also starting sanitation projects in rural areas, to collect waste water and remove pollutants. These projects are set up in the context of construction works in rural areas.

Solektra Power
Long Term is for Solektra to become a large-scale commercial grade power generation (hydro, solar, etc) and transmission operator in Africa, to connect regional transmission organization, promote regional electricity trade and connect off-grid energy to the main grid. This will be achieved through the development of large- scale power generation project from renewable energy sources such as Hydropower, Solar and other related technologies and signing contracts as an Independent Power Producers with utilities and/or private entities with significant electricity consumptions.
