Prevencao Rodoviaria Portuguesa Assciacao

The PRP is a non-profit association of public utility, with the objective of preventing road accidents and their consequences, a reference at national level having expanded its action, beyond education and awareness, to training in various aspects whether from teachers, young people or technicians involved in the construction, signage and conservation of the various types of roads.

The Portuguese Highway Prevention (PRP) was founded in 1965, on the initiative of civil society, as a response to the very serious situation that was beginning to be felt in Portugal, in terms of road accidents.

From the outset, the State understood and supported the effort made by this Association, both by considering it “of public utility” in 1966, and by delegating to it various responsibilities in the development and coordination of various activities in the different fields of prevention and road safety, namely in the field of Road Education.

Over more than 50 years of existence, PRP has acquired knowledge, skills and experience that have allowed it to expand the range and volume of its interventions, and simultaneously make it an entity of national reference, always being called upon to collaborate in the main initiatives undertaken. at government level, either through participation in working groups and technical meetings, or in carrying out concrete actions/initiatives.
