VBN - Vikas Bazar Network

Vikas Bazar.Net is a forum created to initiate a joint and coordinated effort of stakeholders for accelerating the participation of marginal and small producers in the market for their benefit. The forum is the outcome of the workshop on “Poor, Livelihoods and Market Development” held in Ranchi between 23 – 27 November 2005. Representative of 54 NGOs active in the field of livelihood promotion from the eastern Plateau region of India attended the workshop. Fourteen (14) organizations from Jharkhand were present at this meeting volunteered to form this forum. The representatives started to meet periodically which slowly took the shape of a forum and named as Vikas Bazar.Net. Vikas Bazar.Net has been active since last five years and all its past effort has been concentrated in forming its objective and taking up capacity building activities for its members.

The effort is supported by ICCO, the Netherlands and presently PRADAN holds the secretariat to promote and sustain such an endeavor. At present, fifteen (15) organizations from Jharkhand are part of this forum. Senior personnel represent their individual organization, meet once in every quarter to strengthen the process of mutual learning, sharing and delineate plan of action which provides scope for participation of all partners in the activities of VB.Net.
