Rikolto (former Vredeseilanden)

Rikolto (formerly VECO/Vredeseilanden) is independent NGO with more than 40 years of experience in partnering with farmer organisations and food chain actors across Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America.

Rikolto means 'harvest' in Esperanto. Together with farmers, companies, scientists and governments, we harvest new ideas to feed a growing world population in a sustainable way.

Mission

Healthy and sustainable food, today and in the future: that is what Rikolto is all about. From a fair income for the farmer to affordable, high-quality food for everyone. We connect citizens, farmers, companies, (knowledge) institutions and governments. Worldwide, we are working together on innovative, inspiring initiatives that meet the global challenges surrounding biodiversity, climate and inequality. In this way we contribute to system solutions for food.

Rikolto is above all a movement of people. People who give support, people who pursue the same goal in their environment.
