St Vincent Minor Seminary

Saint Vincent de Paul Minor Seminary was founded on September 27, 1976 by His Excellency Monsignor NSENGIYUMVA Vincent, three months after the canonical erection of the Archdiocese of Kigali. It was with a view to preparing future candidates for the priesthood. Saint Vincent Minor Seminary opened its doors for the first time in Rulindo. A few years later, since there was not enough space in Rulindo for the necessary supervision of seminarians, the Minor Seminary was transferred to Ndera. Construction work began in haste in 1982 and in 1983 more than 300 seminarians settled there.
