CCM - Country Coordinating Mechanism (Benin) / Instance National de Coordination (INC) (Benin)

A Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) is the national committee that submit the country’s funding request to the Global Fund and oversees the grants on behalf of their country. CCMs should bring together key stakeholders; and seek meaningful engagement with balanced representation across geographies, genders, expertise, sectors, and other factors.

Many W4GF Advocates from communities represent key constituencies on CCMs and work to ensure that CCM transparently and inclusively:

Coordinate the development of the national request
Nominate the Principal Recipient
Oversee the implementation of approved grants
Approve any reprogramming requests
Ensure linkages and consistency between Global Fund grants and other national health and development programs
Each CCM is meant to set up a mechanism to engage communities of people living with or affected by HIV, TB and malaria including women in all our diversity and key populations to allow our input and voices to be heard. Such engagement should continue throughout the grant lifecycle to provide input to strengthen the delivery of programmes and services.

The CCM is an important space and allows opportunity to bring our needs and voices to decision making tables.
