Sindicatul National al Politistilor si Personalului Contractual (SNPPC)

The National Union of Policemen and Contract Personnel is the largest union in Romania and the only one with its own representation at the level of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Founded on December 21, 2004, SNPPC has developed over time, forming the Federation  of National Unions of  Policemen and Contractual Personnel  from Romania (FSNPPC), the largest profile organization, with representativeness in the field of order  and  public safety managed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, social dialogue partner of the MAI, negotiator and signatory of collective agreements and contracts regarding employment relationships.

SNPPC currently has 74 territorial offices and over 40,000 members throughout the country. By extension and number of members, SNPPC is the most important union in the General Inspectorate of the Police, the General Inspectorate of the Border Police and in many other structures of the MAI.

The purpose of the SNPPC, stated in the first article of its statute, is to protect the rights and represent the professional, economic and social, cultural and sporting interests of its members, provided for in the national legislation, in the treaties, agreements and international conventions to which Romania is a party part, in the collective labor contracts and in the labor legislation in the field.

In support of its members and their families , in order to offer them help when they need it the most, SNPPC established the St. Nicholas Foundation - Patron Saint of Policemen. Among the most important humanitarian objectives of the organization, in addition to helping police officers, is the provision of support for disadvantaged people, the promotion of national identity, the identification and promotion of young talents in various cultural-artistic, scientific and sports fields.

SNPPC is the  largest  and  strongest  trade union organization in the field of public order . Through the complexity of the actions carried out, through the important partnerships and affiliations, through the authentic social and humanitarian involvement and through the strong voice it represents, SNPPC permanently strengthens this position, in support of its members, both individually and collectively.

In achieving its goals, SNPPC has developed strong partnerships at the local, national and European level. FSNPPC is affiliated to the largest trade union confederation in Romania, CNS Cartel ALFA, and the president of our organization also holds the position of vice president of the Executive OfficeALFA cartel. We are also founding members of the EPU -European Police Union, the most important profile organization, recognized at the level of the European Union, where we hold the position of vice president, through the general treasurer of FSNPPC, Staicu Claudiu Florin.
