Roma Lom Foundation (RLF)

Roma- Lom Foundation is a non-profitable organization, registered in Bulgaria in November 1996 in accordance with the Law of non-profit organizations. The NGO works for giving authority and improvement of the social emancipation of the groups in unequal status in the North-Western Bulgarian region, with special attention to the Roma community. The main activity of the Foundation is to stimulate the process of gaining authority and the social emancipation of the communities in unequal status. The accent falls on the Roma community because it is in the worst position and at the same time are the majority- only in the town of Lom, the Roma people are about 9 000 and represent almost 30% of the total population of the town. Roma- Lom Foundation works in four main directions:

• Development of the human resources of the civic organizations in the region
• Education
• Formation of income and access to employment
• Social activities and policy.
