About

The Center for the Study of Violence at USP (NEV-USP) is one of the Research Support Centers (NAP) of the Dean of Research at the University of São Paulo (PRP-USP), headquartered at the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences (FFLCH/USP). Since 1987, NEV-USP has been developing research and training researchers through an interdisciplinary approach in the discussion of themes related to violence, democracy and human rights.

Over more than 30 years of existence, NEV-USP has developed a series of research projects and extension courses funded by the Ford Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), International Committee of the Red Cross, CNPq and FAPESP, in addition to agreements with UN agencies (WHO-PAHO, UNDP), European Union, Ministries of Health and Justice, Special Secretariat for Human Rights, and Secretariat of Justice of the State of São Paulo, among others.
