USSEIN - Université du Sine Saloum El-Hâdj Ibrahima NIASS

The University of Sine Saloum El Hadj Ibrahima NIASS wants to be a 4th generation university. It will be inspired by the experience of emerging universities but it will above all have to take into account the lessons learned from 3 generations of universities in Senegal: Dakar (1st generation ), Saint Louis ( 2nd generation) and Thiès/Ziguinchor/ Bambey (3rd generation ).

The ambition is to make USSEIN a modern university of international class which will be attractive both for students from Senegal and the sub-region as well as for PER and PATS.

First university to polarize several administrative regions, the USSEIN will fully play the diversification of sectors and sites with training and research units (UFR) and schools which will be installed in the four regions, in Kaolack, Fatick, Kaffrine and Diourbel. Anchored in its lands from which it will make the most of, it will endeavor to render services to the communities.

Thanks to the partnership that will be forged with ITA and ISRA, among others, value will be added to the USSEIN project, which will thus be able to better succeed in its mission by promoting the transfer of technologies accumulated by these partner institutions within the community. Thus, the USSEIN will have to contribute to the modernization of family farming while relying on endogenous knowledge.
