About
AIDS Healthcare Foundation is a Los Angeles-based 501C nonprofit founded in 1987 to provide medical care for individuals living or affected by HIV/AIDS. AHF Kenya began operations in 2007 and was officially registered as a National NGO operating in Kenya on June 2008. AHF Kenya programs are run in collaboration with partners, the Ministry of Health and local governments.
The HIV care and treatment program focuses on holistic approach to care and treatment for the HIV infected people. The key interventions include management of opportunistic illness and co-morbidities, STI management and treatment of TB/HIV co-infection. The key focus is to have quality services to Kenyans at no cost at all. Quality is maintained through the set indicators and reviews by the Quality assurance team.
AHF Kenya also supports a multi-pronged prevention program that includes monthly outreach of free HIV testing and counseling into a multitude of local communities which allows the team to identify people living with HIV who are out of care and link them to services.
