Zonke Energy delivers clean and affordable energy to informal settlements. In these communities, access to electricity is dangerous or non-existent, and households rely on dirty and expensive alternatives. Our unique mini-grid architecture provides clients with essential energy services such as lighting, all the way up to refrigeration, all while being inherently safe via low-voltage DC. Each grid can serve up to 16 households - expansion is as easy as installing additional solar+battery+metering units. They are also quick and easy to setup, even in dense settlements with difficult access. Pre-paid metering, online client management, and a seamless payment system make it easy for clients to stay connected and for operators to reliably serve their customers.
