Childcan

Childcan was founded in 1974 during a late-night conversation between parent David Cohen and Dr. L.L. Barrie deVeber, Immunologist/Oncologist. David and Dr. deVeber knew first-hand about the challenges the family of a child with cancer faces. They understood that parents and children had needs for financial, emotional and social support that weren’t being met. Together, they set out to unite families with community allies who care. With that community support, Childcan continues to help each family in the way that will make the most difference to them with unique, personalized programs and services designed to alleviate worries and allow the parents to focus on their child.
