ACTNOW - Actions for Climate Transformation with Nature Observation and Wellbeing in Kenya

Actions for Climate Transformation with Nature Observation and Wellbeing in Kenya (ACTNOW-Ke) is a youth-led grassroot community based organization created in March 2022 to transform indigenous and rural communities by addressing climate change and biodiversity degradation both of which are making survival unbearable. Our thematic areas of approach include - a) Environmental and climate change education to young environmentalists and local communities, b) Mobilizing and awareness generation on the dire need to conserve and manage huge tracks of lands in indigenous communities, c) peace advocacy programs to reduce conflicts that result from shared community pasturelands, d) environmental clean-ups and waste management e) wildlife management, f) promotion of sustainable cultural practices to avoid endangering natural life in indigenous communities, g) offering sanctuary to small animals such as birds, h) finding solutions to minimizing and managing the rapidly spreading invasive species such as opuntia that are reducing the general land productivity in ASAL areas in Laikipia north. We are located in Laikipia North-Laikipia County, Kenya.
