At Northwest Hydraulic Consultants (NHC), we work for the benefit of our clients and their communities by providing technically advanced, environmentally responsible, innovative, and specialized scientific and engineering solutions to a variety of water resource challenges.

In 1972, when NHC first opened its office doors, water resource management, development, and protection was a vastly different world. Advancements in scientific knowledge of water management, hydraulics, improved construction techniques, a greater awareness of environmental responsibility, and the growing importance of long-term water management decision making has reshaped our business. We have remained vital by recognizing and embracing the changes in application of water resource science and engineering for our diverse clientele. We will continue to assist clients in meeting and successfully solving the water resource challenges of the future through the technical strength, creativity, and integrity of our people.

NHC's key staff comes from a variety of backgrounds ranging from the sciences, technology, consulting, teaching, research, and government service. We base our insights and recommendations on focused and advanced research and applications conducted in the field, our laboratories, and our offices. We describe and analyze complex hydrologic and hydraulic conditions in the field, and model them in both sophisticated software programs and in physical laboratory models. We develop planning and design solutions, and then oversee project construction and monitor project success. We provide water yield assessment, flood prediction and protection, hydraulics of water resource infrastructure, water quality protection, and habitat restoration.
