SAPAM - Southern African Programme on Access to Medicines and Diagnostics

SAPAM initiated as a support program for the SADC Pharmaceutical Business Plan in 2009, and now continues to operate as a regional program through engagement with various partners and facilitators in the public and private sectors.

Foundation of the Strategy
Our foundation of the strategy rests on the following: 

Expertise and experience of the regionally based team members to support the activities required by the building blocks of health systems strengthening
Requisite knowledge to meet the identified needs of the countries in the region as per the identified priority areas in the official documents such as the SADC Pharmaceutical Business Plan 2015 – 2019
Alignment of activities to the SDGs Goal 3: Good Health and Well Being – Ensure healthy lives and promote well being for all ages
Ability to collaborate and team up with synergistic partners with common and aligned interests
Resource mobilisation to support implementation of the activities for health systems strengthening
Established networks with key personnel in health sectors of SADC countries
