Time flies like an arrow! In the blink of the eye the year 2011 has become history. The Institute of Engineering Thermophysics has been in existence for 55 years since its establishment. As the year of Activation, 2011 witnessed the good start of the 12th Five-Year Plan and “Innovation 2020 ” Plan with the unity and concerted efforts of all the staff.

Looking back on the 55-year development of our Institute, we have been undertaking the task of “Striving for Innnovation for the Country” and pioneered the field of Engineering Thermophysics in China. We have also cultivated a group of talents in the field of energy and technology, pointed out the direction of China’s development of energy and established our good academic reputation. In 2011, in response to the needs of national energy strategic development, our Institute set up the 12th Five-Year Plan and “Innovation 2020” Plan of our institute and specified the direction of “One, Three, Five” and strived to establish and implement the advanced energy and power system in order to provide innovative ideas, technology and talents for the sustainable development of energy and power in China.
