About
The association Sud Contre le Sida was created in 1990, in a context of denial of the disease, to provide support for people with HIV/AIDS.
The ASCS is a very active player in Morocco. Since 2002, it has participated in the development and implementation of national and regional strategic plans for the fight against AIDS. She also contributed to the realization of several studies including the bio-behavioural study of sex workers and MSM in 2010, 2015 and 2017.
From 2009, the ASCS created sections in priority areas to facilitate access to information and screening for the most exposed populations (SW, MSM and young people) and to ensure the psychological and social support for PLHIV. The ASCS sections are located in the following provinces: Agadir Idaoutanane, Ait Melloul, Chtouka Ait Baha and Ouarzazate.
As part of its strategy to facilitate access to AIDS services, the ASCS has acquired a mobile unit to carry out HIV prevention and screening activities in remote areas, isolated localities or in sites with a high influx of the most exposed populations, in particular SWs and MSM.
