AMURT International - Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team (South Sudan)

AMURT (Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team) is an international charitable organisation for emergency relief and sustainable development cooperation. Their guiding principle is the belief that a team of highly motivated and dedicated people can make an important difference to the lives of countless individuals living in extreme poverty. The success of this principle has inspired people in many countries all over the world to work tirelessly together in order to alleviate the suffering and ameliorate the living conditions of such individuals.

AMURT started its operations in South Sudan during the war in 1998. In Northern Bahr el Ghazal, a region close to the frontline between North and South, AMURT supported the people with food, water and medicines for many years.
