About

International Partnership for Human Rights (IPHR) is a non-profit organisation with its seat in Brussels. It was founded in April 2008 with a mandate to support local civil society groups and help them to make human rights concerns heard at the international level.

IPHR's small but growing team, which is based in Brussels and several other European cities, have long-term experience of international-level human rights work, including project development and implementation, monitoring, research and reporting, and advocacy with international organisations. Since its establishment, IPHR has worked together with human rights groups from a number of different regions and countries on international engagement, outreach and advocacy (see more under "activities").

The starting point of IPHR's work is the recognition that human rights protection is always a matter of international concern and that the international community has a crucial role to play in supporting the efforts of civil society to hold governments accountable to international human rights standards. This is particularly essential with respect to civil society groups that are working in repressive environments.
