Konrad Adenauer Foundation (Armenia)

Konrad Adenauer is the founding chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. Fundamental decisions made during his chancellorship (1949-1963) determine the internal structure and foreign policy orientation of the Federal Republic of Germany to this day.

The entry of the Federal Republic into the circle of western democracies, the European unification work and the Franco-German reconciliation are closely connected with Adenauer's name. Immediately after taking over the chancellorship, he announced his intention on behalf of the German people "to make amends for the injustice against the Jews as far as this is possible after millions of lives have been irretrievably destroyed".

The reconstruction of West Germany, dealing with the burden of the war, the decision in favor of the social market economy and far-reaching socio-political decisions were made during Adenauer's time as chancellor.

The CDU, which emerged from a spontaneous founding wave in 1945, rose as the "Chancellor's Party" with Adenauer to become the most successful party in German history in the 20th century.
