About
An official agency of the government of Saudi Arabia, the Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) is in charge of developing the Diriyah neighborhood, which lies outside of Riyadh, the country's capital.
The Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) project is a tourism initiative that hopes to pull in travelers from all over the world. Located on the outskirts of the capital city of Riyadh, the project is located in the historic center of Diriyah and the At-Turaif UNESCO World Heritage Site, an iconic mud-brick city with roots that date back to the 15th century.
At-Turaif was the first capital of the ruling Saudi dynasty. When the project is completed, visitors will be able to learn about the history of Saudi Arabia while exploring its castles and buildings firsthand.
Developing At-Turaif as a tourism initiative is only one aspect of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) project. Other aspects of its mandate include promoting the cultural heritage and history of Saudi Arabia as well as improving employment opportunities for locals in Saudi Arabia and creating an environment for hosting world-class cultural entertainment events.
