The National Health Insurance Agency (ANAM) is a public institution with legal personality and financial autonomy. It was created in 2005, under article 57 of law 65-00 on the code of basic medical coverage.
The National Agency for Health Insurance is one of the great achievements experienced by the Kingdom during the last decade for the realization of Basic Medical Coverage (CMB). As provided for by the legislation in force, the ANAM's main missions are the supervision and regulation of the Compulsory Health Insurance scheme (AMO), as well as the management of the resources of the Medical Assistance Scheme (RAMED). It must ensure compliance with the provisions of the law governing CMB.
It is the institution responsible for the effective declination of the fundamental rights of the Moroccan citizen in terms of Basic Medical Coverage.
