Grupo Cometa began in 1973 in the city of Mirassol do Oeste, in the interior of Mato Grosso. A defect in one of the parts of the family car and the difficulty in finding it, since there was no store in the city, awakened the entrepreneurial spirit of young Francis. Then, Cometa Comércio de Auto Peças was born.

Even without many resources, credit or experience in the area, but with a lot of perseverance, dynamism and the constant search for knowledge in the field, the business prospered.

With the growth of auto parts Francis and his family decided to invest in another commercial segment: Motorcycle resale. In 1984, the first Honda Dealership was inaugurated in Vilhena-RO. A year later the second Dealership is opened in the city of Cáceres-MT.

Since then, the Group has not stopped growing. It currently has thirteen Honda Dealers spread across five Brazilian states: in Mato Grosso in the cities of Alta Floresta, Cáceres, Colíder and Pontes and Lacerda; in Mato Grosso do Sul Paranaíba and Campo Grande; Ji-Paraná and Ouro Preto do Oeste in Rondônia; in Amazonas Tabatinga, Tefé and Manaus; Belém and Ananindeua in Pará. A Volkswagen dealership in the city of Cáceres in Mato Grosso. Four Hyundai dealerships in the cities of Ji-Paraná in Rondônia, Sinop, Tangará da Serra and Rondonópolis in Mato Grosso.

Grupo Cometa also develops agricultural activities, with a strong presence in the market of elite animals of the Nelore breed, being a reference in the region where they operate.

Social Responsibility is also a concern of the Group. The Cometa Institute develops projects focused on the environment, entertainment and culture, education, digital inclusion, support to Charitable Entities and needy families.

The Cometa Group has its management centralized in Cáceres-MT, coordinating the operational and strategic areas, such as Marketing, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Auditing, Accounting, Legal, etc. Strategic decision-making is linked to senior management, being composed of the Presidency, Vice-presidency, Commercial Directorship, Administrative and Financial Directorship and Regional Directorate Amazonas and Pará and, Administrative Council composed of representatives of the family and independent consultants.

Throughout the Group, there are more than 1,300 employees who receive investments and incentives in courses and training, as they are an integral part of this success.
