About

The creation of the NGO AIP took place in a general context marked by a weak representation of local NGOs inside the country, but also a certain general pessimism, as for the credibility and the viability of these organizations.
From the outset, the members wanted to set up a health support structure that was both flexible and acted "at ground level" (as close as possible to grassroots rural and peri-urban communities) but without losing sight of the necessary articulation that must exist between the different levels of intervention (village or camp, land, region, nation).

It was in the face of the health problems of young people in his neighborhood and the request for help from them that President KOUASSI Kra Eugène had summoned nine (09) of his friends to inform them of his idea of setting up a non-governmental organization that will work to find solutions to these problems. This is how the NGO AIP was founded.

Indeed, at the time, the Banco district where President KOUASSI Kra Eugène lived was the second largest slum in Côte d'Ivoire after that of the Bardeau district in San-Pedro. Young people were exposed to the scourges of HIV/Aids, which was wreaking havoc. Moreover, several of its young people have died as a result of this pandemic. There was also a high death rate among children and women in the neighborhood.
It is to deal with this situation that KOUASSI Kra Eugène made his friends aware of the effect of setting up a structure that will provide care and sensitize the populations of the district on the danger represented by HIV/AIDS.
At the beginning, the NGO with the support of the Canadian Program for the fight against AIDS and the Health District of Bouaké, organized activities of sensitization, vaccination and care in the district.
