Costa Foundation

The Costa Foundation is an independant charity that aims to relieve poverty in coffee-growing communities. Its mission is to improve the life chances of boys and girls by providing them with the opportunity for a quality education. Foundation schools deliver both academic and extracurricular programs that enhance health, gender equality and environmental awareness.

To date, the Costa Foundation has supported 42 school projects in eight countries around the world. Children are currently benefitting from Costa Foundation funded facilities in Colombia, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Honduras, Peru, Vietnam and Uganda.

The Costa Foundation supports coffee-growing communities by:

1. Building new schools or extending existing ones
2. Furnishing the new buildings
3. Investing in water supplies
4. Providing electricity
5. Providing computers
6. Developing land for families to grow crops
7. Building teacher accommodation
9. Building latrines
10. Maximising leverage opportunities for the communities 

The Costa Foundation works closely with a number of delivery partners all of which have a close relationship with the co-operatives, Local Authorities, Governments and communities in the countries we support.
