Fine Dried Foods International specializes in fresh dried, high quality tropical fruits. Owner Rusty Brown’s quest to combine his passion for making a difference in people’s lives with his interest in sustainable food processing systems led to the founding of FDFI in 1979. In pursuit of small-scale technologies that respect and protect the earth, Brown developed and refined a unique fresh drying process that utilizes tropical foods found in abundance around the world. 

Today, FDFI employs hundreds of workers in agricultural areas of Mexico. The company’s goals support Brown’s initial vision to increase food supplies, introduce and develop organic sustainable farming techniques and multiply market options for farmers and workers in rural areas. FDFI works diligently with growers to provide education and resources that lead to the organic certification of their crops.

FDFI’s processing plants operate in ways that reflect the company’s high standards for sustainability of communities, fairness in business and superlative quality for all fruits produced in each processing plant.
