ADRA Hellas is a Greek Humanitarian Organization located in Katerini, Greece and it is member of the International ADRA Network. The Greek country office was established on November 2018. However, the ADRA Hellas’ Team has been operating in Greece since January 2016, through ADRA Germany’s branch. From that time until July 2018, was consistently providing emergency response and relief services, within the refugee crisis covering first and foremost the needs of the refugees as well as supporting the Greek State which had to deal with yet another crisis apart from the economic one which already existed. During the mentioned period, ADRA was active at the camp of “Petra” in Pieria, Greece supporting approximately one thousand four hundred (1.400) migrants while constructed and operated its own hospitality settlement at “Kato Milia” also in Pieria in close cooperation with the Ministry of Migration Policy, hosting up to four hundred (400) asylum seekers. At the same time assisted in the coordination and the operation of a hosting facility for unaccompanied minors (UMCs) in Drama Greece, in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

On August 2018, following the tragic wildfires incident of July 23rd where a hundred people lost their lives in Mati, East Attica, ADRA Hellas rushed to respond with gathering and distributing supplementary food and Non Food Items. A team of two (2) nurses, one (1) psychologist, one (1) social worker and one (1) lawyer, relocated to the affected area and immediately started providing humanitarian aid. The services provided included Medical and Psychosocial support to the victims of the wildfires, as well as Legal consultancy. ADRA Hellas remained at the affected areas providing consistently its services until March 2019. ADRA Hellas is dedicated and committed to providing humanitarian help and relief to the people in need and constantly tries to come up with new ideas and projects in order to support and strengthen the community regardless of anyone’s race, ethnicity, sex or religion.
