Legislative Decree 169/2016 establishes the Port System Authority of the Northern Tyrrhenian Sea. The Decree attributes to the AdSP MTS the competences over the Ports of Livorno, Capraia, Piombino, Portoferraio, Rio Marina and Cavo. The System Authority is a non-economic public body that exclusively administers the areas and assets of the maritime state property included in its jurisdiction and which is responsible for, among other things, the tasks of direction, planning, coordination, regulation, promotion and control, also through the territorial port offices of the port operations and services, of the authorization and concession activities referred to in Articles 16, 17 and 18 and of the other commercial and industrial activities carried out in the ports and territorial jurisdictions.
