The Institute for the Development of Education advocates for a system of higher education that will ensure equal educational opportunities, be guided by the principle of quality assurance, promote international cooperation, encourage lifelong learning and respond to the needs of individuals and society.

 Mission

The Institute for the Development of Education contributes to the development of higher education policies, provides professional support to institutions, networks domestic and international experts, and enables individuals in Croatia and the region to achieve their educational goals.

 Values and principles of action

The values that the Institute for Education Development stands for are:

• Equity: Ensuring equal opportunities, fighting against discrimination and helping vulnerable social groups in the education system as a basis for greater social inclusion and development of society as a whole.
• Participation and transparency: Promoting the principles of participatory democracy in order to strengthen the social responsibility of individuals and institutions. Promotion of the principle of transparency of the work of public institutions and the representation of stakeholders in the procedures for passing laws, other regulations and acts.
• Collaboration: Encouraging trust and dialogue among stakeholders in higher education (at national and international level) through the exchange of information, views and ideas with the aim of making decisions that are based on real needs, verifiable data and best practices.
• Quality: Ensuring and improving quality as a prerequisite for the establishment of an effective system of higher education and the realization of quality outcomes of higher education and scientific activities.
