The MÉCA, House of the creative economy and culture of the New Aquitaine region, is first and foremost a tool for artists and creative sectors in New Aquitaine, at the service of the territories.

A veritable house of creative hybridization, each space is thought of as a living place for artistic experimentation, in tune with contemporary creation.

The MÉCA is thus more artist residencies, an exceptional stage, a projection room, possibilities for new exhibitions, a nursery for young talents... Covering 12,000 m², within a totem building outside -standard, the MECA offers professionals a unique and increased field of action.

Artists, authors, producers and all the players in the creative ecosystem are the essential links in this dynamism.

To develop support for projects and support the structuring of sectors, the MÉCA brings together its two cultural agencies: ALCA and OARA, as well as the Frac Nouvelle-Aquitaine MÉCA.

A veritable laboratory, the MÉCA is a place of research, creation and production, intended for professionals and open to the public.

It thus offers interactions and meetings to the inhabitants of the district and the city, to national and international visitors.

The Frac Nouvelle-Aquitaine MÉCA, one of whose public service missions is based on the dissemination of contemporary art, offers 2 to 3 major exhibitions each year in addition to its many innovative mediation actions with various audiences (schools, social field, media libraries, etc.).
The cultural agencies OARA and ALCA offer regular meetings with the public such as screenings or residence outings.
