About

Institut Scientifique de Service Publique (ISSeP) is the worthy successor of the Institute of Mines (1902), the National Institute of Coal Industries (INICHar-1947 ) and the National Institute of Extractive Industries (INIEx-1967). It therefore benefits from a heritage of more than 100 years of research and recognized expertise. The Public Service Scientific Institute (ISSeP) is subject to the authority of the Walloon Government, which holds its management powers. Its functional Minister is the Minister of the Environment. Its workforce is made up of around 300 people spread over two sites: Liège, where the head office is also located, and Colfontaine.
