About
Presentation
Created in 1917 and recognized as being of public utility on August 27, 1921.
The Fédération des Aveugles et Amblyopes de France brings together activists, users, professionals and volunteers committed together for greater social and economic inclusion of visually impaired people.
It has set itself the goal of allowing full citizenship to all blind and visually impaired people without exception, in France and abroad.
The governing bodies, office and board of directors, have the particularity of being mainly composed of blind and visually impaired members. Its motto is: for and by the blind .
A leading partner of public authorities and local elected officials, it is present in mainland and overseas regions, through its member associations which serve more than 10,000 members and beneficiaries. All these associations share the common values of selflessness, democracy, transparency, solidarity and secularism. Among them are militant associations, but also associations managing services and establishments, promoting quality support for visually impaired people at all ages of life, carried out by qualified professionals.
