About
History of Carpathian National University - a history of our state, progress towards independence, national cultural and spiritual rebirth. Joining Galicia in the USSR in 1939 , despite the negative consequences of the spread on the territory of the Stalinist totalitarian system, an important step towards the unification of all Ukrainian lands in one state and made it possible to begin development of a system of public education.
Naturally, at the beginning of this process Carpathian region faced a severe shortage of teachers\' training . Already in October 1939 began working seminars teachers, but neither they nor the involvement of teachers from east Ukraine could not solve the problem. Therefore local authorities have violated the Government of USSR the establishment of the regional center - the city of Stanislav ( since 1962 Ivano -Frankivsk) Teachers Institute , and in January 1940 began preparing for its opening. As a result, March 1 this year, began teaching in the newly created institution , whose director : Teacher Education Stanislav F.Plotnytskyy pedagogical school , his deputy on scientific and educational part - M.Shevchenko . The institute was set up three departments : history (Dean T.Velykyy ), Physics and Mathematics (Dean M.Korol ) and philology with two compartments - Ukrainian Language and Literature and Russian Language and Literature (Dean M.Shmulenzon ).
